Today's post is all about the people of Torvaldsland, Vikings and all the Northern cultures who endure the harsh winters and jarring temperatures on Earth and other fictional worlds. Earth's most weather-resilient cultures have lived in these conditions for a number a centuries – special diets and survival skills to brave the elements are essential to these long-standing communities and the inspiration of so many role-players that take their storytelling seriously. There is something magical and inspiring about these indigenous groups; these people have found a way adapt, survive, and thrive in the cold Arctic temperatures and extreme wind chills. So next time you role-play a Viking or a Northern character, pick up a book or “google” to read interesting information about your character of choice – this is a wonderful way not only to build an amazing background story, but it will boost your character's narrative to a whole new level. Your role-play pals will love it too. Don't be afraid of being different – residents love people who “think outside of the box,” but always be respectful of the region rules and codes of conduct.
