Drift Into Fantasy

Driftwood, the newest fantasy fashion event in Second Life, is back this month with plenty of dreamy and charming merchandise. A healthy mix of furniture, décor and avatar accessories is waiting for you until July 5th but let’s not forget how beautiful the backdrop decorations are. Visit the location, go for a stroll or take a few pictures (if you’re into that). Please remember that Driftwood opens every other month and after the current round, the event will return in August.

Every fashion event has a team of bloggers that help advertising and promoting throughout social media channels and sometimes…well…this happens:

This won’t be the first and the last time you will see bloggers promoting similar or identical items. I’ve also addressed this issue in the past but perhaps, it’s time for a refresher. I strongly believe the majority of bloggers do not have the intention to copycat one another – at least, I don’t. You might wonder why this happens and why I’ve decided to publish my post regardless - allow me to explain before you throw negative comments or thoughts out there.
Creators sometimes release very limited amount of blogging material in a day. Bloggers rush to get started on promoting the event, and sometimes that one outfit, that one pose pack or that one hair is featured on several blogs at the same time. In this situation, The Good Gorean and the Anti Girly Girl had the same vision for a blog post with the first items that were released to the Driftwood’s bloggers team. When I found Anti Girly Girl’s picture on Flickr, I debated in deleting everything and start fresh with different material, but considering the time I’ve put into taking the pictures, editing, and typing, that was not an option. Most importantly is how much I enjoyed creating this post and visiting this location. To the Anti Girly Girl: I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional.

Now that we got that elephant out of the room, let’s focus in what really matters: the items I’m featuring below and The Lost Unicorn Gallery. This woodsy-fae look couldn’t be possible without the stunning “Breena” outfit by
Les sucreries de Fairy, the pose pack by X.T.C. and the beautiful eyes from unstable – unique and beautiful. I was also excited to discover some of these brands that were unknown to me until now.

The Lost Unicorn Gallery is also a unique and beautiful location in Second Life. Since 2014, Natalie Montagne has done a terrific job of maintaining this sim over the years. The gallery features fantasy artwork of Second Life artists, photo contests, stunning landscapes, and much more. Guests also have the opportunity of purchasing the artwork that rotates every 2 months with new pictures and new creators.  Drift into this magical, enchanting location and show your support by visiting the Lost Unicorn Gallery.
