It's a good day to be green – the levels of pollution have been reduced dramatically and many countries across the world are experiencing a life with less smog due to the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, this is the price we paid to live in a healthier Mother Earth, and I can only hope this situation will make us realize that environmental regulations are vital to keep our world alive and well for many centuries to come.
Staying at home and practicing social distancing continues to be a sad reality for us, but for now, let's make the best of it.
As our community continues to grow, a variety of events continues to be offered to residents. Second Life® Resident and Award-Winning Media Maker Draxtor Despres is now hosting a weekly book club series. The Second Life® Book Club is a great escape from the current health public health crisis offering real-time book readings, socializing with other users, and engaging discussion panels, with the opportunity of meeting some of your favorite authors. This event goes live every Wednesday, at 10 a.m. SLT – you can join it live or watch the shows at www.draxtor.com/slbookclub . In addition, Showcase Streams, a new series aimed to promote music, art and cultural events in Second Life®, is another great way to spend time with the community, learn and explore the many exhibitions and art galleries across the grid.
Remember Singularity? Considering this was my all-time favorite and number 1 choice for combat performance, the viewer became obsolete for the lack of updates, forcing many users to install other available viewers. On April 2, 2020, and after 4 years, an updated version was finally released and although I did not had the time to test it yet, I have to admit I'm pretty excited for this comeback. Animesh, Bento, Bakes on Mesh, improved cache performance and much more has been released with the 1.8.9 update.
