Yeah – it’s a crazy world out there. Now more than ever, I’m thankful for being able to escape to Second Life®. Luckily, we have plenty of events and activities and my suggestions is just a small portion of what you can do here. If you have extra time in hands, like many of us do while at home during the COVID-19, try out these suggestions and always feel free to comment more of your own below.
1. Go on a Hunt
There are a lot of cool hunts to do every month. Many of them even make the hunter’s job easier by showing previews of hunt prizes. Some prizes are completely free and others are as low as 1$L. To start testing your hunt skills, visit Hunt SL and SL Hunts . You will find a little bit of everything: hair, skins, textures, clothing, accessories...you name it! Hunts are great to stock up on your avatar’s role-play needs for free.
2. Join Raid Messenger of Gor and Chat
Raid Messenger is one of the oldest and largest groups of role-players in Second Life. The majority of the members are gorean role-players but there is also a healthy mix of users from medieval, game of thrones and other similar role-play genres. Members use the group to chat, recruit warriors for raids in gor and…there is the occasional “telenovela.” But most importantly, Raid Messenger is a great community, who knows how to have a great time in the game. Beware that is a L$1000 fee to join the group - make it worth it.
3. Join a Role-play Group and Hang Out with your New Peeps
There are plenty of role-play cities, villages, tribes and other groups you can join, and have one heck of a good time. If you are searching for a new home where you can play an amazing story line, check out the recruitment notices in the Raid Messenger of Gor, Got Roleplay? and Role-play Hub groups.
4. Explore Role-play Regions
Visit other role-play regions when your group has some downtime or if you feel like exploring the grid. Think outside the box and head out to other regions of the same role-play genre you play. If you are feeling a little adventurous, visit other locations offering a completely different fantasy – always make sure you read the rules and grab a visitor's tag!
5. …and Role-play too?
Don’t be shy and go for it. Roll the dice, land on an unfamiliar sim and engage role-play right away - nothing is more exciting than an unexpected story line. Be aware that your character might require an application and administrators' approval, prior to IC role-play engagement. Once you get that out of the way, immerse yourself in a unique role-play experience, great adventure and making friends.
