Creator Spotlight: Medieval World

As a role-player, I appreciate the small details surrounding a gripping story-line. NPCs and other landscape items can boost the writer’s creativity and impact the overall scenario of the narrative. These elements make a difference, and the role-play community should appreciate the creators' time and effort in making our role-play an enjoyable experience. A merchant like Medieval World is what makes Second Life® the home of so many role-players across the world.

Gather around fellow Game of Thrones role-players, I have exciting news for you! As I formally introduce you to Medieval World, don’t let the Game of Thrones merchandise shy you away if you are a gorean or medieval role-player; there is plenty for you too.

Medieval World has been in Marketplace since 2017 and today, offers an impressive collection of Game of Thrones décor including shields, NPC guards and knights, female and male armors, boats, jewelry, and a wonderful horse collection with riding apparel featuring popular house sigils of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novels. Clothing is also available here: gowns for the ladies and outfits for the lords with an assortment of colors and (you guessed it?) house sigils. Medieval World also offers a small collection of buildings including a barn, a joust pavilion, a wood and a stone house with a low prim version. In addition, Medieval World offers custom work upon request - visit the in-world store to contact the owner. After reviewing a few of the items and browsing on the store’s marketplace, my absolute favorites are the different armor pieces and pauldrons sets, which I hopefully can review in a future post.

I had the chance to approach the store owner, Lucas, to ask a few questions and know more about the vision behind Medieval World:

The Good Gorean: What motivated you to be a content creator in Second Life® and what makes Medieval World unique?

Lucas: Well, as I was a roleplayer of a Game of thrones sim, I noticed that was little hard sometimes to find clothes or objects with the logos like Tyrell. I though that would be great to find full perms things in marketplace that their license let me create my own designs, and so i began little by little.

The Good Gorean: When did Medieval World first opened in Second Life®?

Lucas: It first was called "Got Designs" but when i open it inworld, as now I still like to make designs but maybe not all the time Game of Thrones, i changed the name, so Medieval World opened inworld moreless 1-2 months ago, but marketplace has been running since 2017, April

The Good Gorean: What product is Medieval World's best seller?

Lucas: Regarding the records, "Stark Guard" has been sold the most with 38 copies. Then there are other products that are also quite popular like the Woman Corset, Round Table Lannister, medieval cloak, knight tyrell, female stark armor, make and female stark pauldrons, greyjoy boat...
I would say that the majority of the sells are those items related with the higher noble houses of Game of Thrones!

The Good Gorean: What inspires you to create new products?

Lucas: It depends, a friend of mine has also an ooc shop, so she tell me when there are sales like "Ey you knew meli imako now is 50% off?" so I spend some days thinking what will be a sucessful and what ideas i may have in mind. Basically what inspires me is that I am a quite active person that cant be without do nothing! So when i have freetime, is when i more begin to work with photoshop.

The Good Gorean: Tell us about future plans and ambitions for Medieval World.

Lucas: I am trying to enter in events. So far i will enter in the Red Square Event in the middle of the month and I am litle nervous. But my goal is to be a successful shop that maybe can end up with time in We love rp!

The Good Gorean: What current and past events Medieval World was part of?

Lucas: Just Red Square event, that opens the 20th Dec until 10th Jan in the Russian Moscow Sim :)

The Good Gorean: Are you currently role-playing in Second Life®?

Lucas: Always RPing! I think i usually spend most of my time rping than ooc, besides when i go to shop.

-Winterfell (Game of thrones): Lord Lucas Umber: Do you know Little Finger? He has almost that personality! He is a noble that not mind have not friends, leader of the Shadow, a mercenary guild. Lucas is smart, sharp and witty, that not care do whatever it takes for make his plans successful.

-Sovereigns of Elyona: James: I rped his history for almost a year, and just a week ago i came back to this sim. James is an angel that was the Archmage, also he is a trouble maker without notice! He not see the world as humans, so he is confused when he protect someone that try to flee, and other kingdom get mad at him as they want that person prissioner!  James had fall, becoming a demon called Damon, but in the break i take from this sim (I was helping a friend in other sim being king so i had not time to rp here) Damon became little by little angel again, so now James had return, with his knowledge of magic and also fight, less innocent than when the angel first came to Elyona.

The Good Gorean: Where is your role-play home?

Lucas: I would say the one i will call "Home" is Sovereigns of Elyona, as i have been rping there many time and i really always enjoy it. I think that if you like medieval-fantasy Roleplay is such a great sim to play

The Good Gorean: Give us your input on the current state of role-play in Second Life?

Lucas: There are many roleplay sims, Gor, Sci-fi, Urban, Medieval, Fantasy... I think that role-play is a beautiful art, but also a place where you really has to understand the difference between ic and ooc, as in some sims all dramas begin for minor things as that. Roleplay is a great thing in second life, a community. I have tried Urban, Medieval, Fantasy and even Gor. I guess that my conclusion is that each person will end up knowing the place they will prefer, but for that you need patience and try most of them.

The Good Gorean: What would you like to say to current and potential customers?

Lucas: I would say that if they ever see a model on the shop that they like but want it personalized, please do not hesitate to ask, i really love new ideas and my shop goal is to help to have things personalized for your rp!

Medieval World's story is far to be completed. This talented merchant has enormous potential and I can't wait to see that comes next. Personally, I am delighted to see Medieval World in The Good Gorean and have the opportunity to feature upcoming products available to our role-play community.
