It’s official – Halloween is in full swing. In case you haven’t noticed, the blogging community is committed to show us some of the amazing creations and the Good Gorean is no exception; just because we live in a world of fairies, mermaids and highly intelligent golden-insect-like creatures, doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate Halloween. It’s not unusual for role-play regions to host Halloween events or decorate their landing areas with cool-looking knickknacks. No matter where you call home, celebrate this contagious Halloween season by decorating, dressing up your avatar or pick up the hundreds of free gifts you can find in hunts, stores and events.
Second Life® has released new videos in their official You Tube Channel featuring Halloween-themed locations and events, and the 4th episode of the Lab Gab series. Strawberry and Xiola Linden invites viewers to the dark corners of the Swaginator Hunt. Hints and prizes are scattered across the Bellisseria continent but above all, the hunt delivers a fun experience while you explore the region. If hunts and gifts are your thing, this is a season for you: Hunt SL and SL Hunts are packed with listings of Halloween hunts, fair and events; Kustom9 and The Seasons Story are celebrating their anniversary and almost every participating store is offering a gift at these events; and a large number of stores are offering Halloween-themed gifts. You can also find the second list for October Gifts at The Good Gorean HUB nearby the landing area – my listings are a little more refined and includes previews of gifts that I personally handpicked. If a joining a group requires a fee, I also add that information in the list. Just for October, I’ve compiled over 100 gifts between the 2 notecards I released for the month.
I absolutely love Jian and Harshlands’ new releases for the season - both creators have great graveyard sets available for purchase at the FaMESHed and Driftwood events. I couldn’t decide which one I loved more so I had to use a little of both worlds in today’s post. The “Haunted Graveyard” by Jian has all the bells and whistles with animated versions of the graveyard markers, grave plots and stone caskets. On the other hand, the “Tombstone Set” from Hashlands has beautiful, detailed textured grave markers, which you can chose between regular, bloody and mossy versions.
