Linden Lab has released exciting news in Second Life’s official blog. Yesterday’s article, “What’s Next for Linden Lab?”, announced new features and projects, and the most recent achievements in our virtual world.
On November 2018, Animesh was released grid wide, and the community quickly embraced the changes. We are now witnessing the growth of its potential - Marketplace already has over 1000 items listed under the brand new “Animated Objects” category. I suspect Animesh content will eventually become mainstream and what we are seeing right now, is just the very beginning.
The article also mentions the accomplishments with the BoM project, which I have been covering for the last few months in The Good Gorean. The Bakes on Mesh project is also a breakthrough in the platform’s development; users can now customize avatars without using appliers; customize any mesh set to use BoM; and we can all enjoy a world with less mesh, less textures and ultimately, less lag.
We are also witnessing vast improvements in the Linden’s advertisement department. Strawberry Linden has done a terrific job in compiling videos for Second Life’s You Tube Channel. These videos include a variety of topics, for both new and more experienced residents. But, the video programming doesn’t stop with Strawberry’s content; Linden Lab has also released other series, live streaming programming and a bi-weekly talk show. The Second Life Blogger Network, a new initiative aimed to promote independent blogs in the community, is also another way to further promote Linden Lab, Second Life and content creators across the World Wide Web and Social Media. I am personally thrilled about this particular project, and I will share further updates as I learn more about it.
While EEP (Environmental Enhancement Project) is still a work in progress, Linden Lab also shares new product possibilities with the Migration to the Cloud.
In addition to the Traditional, Houseboat and Campers styles, Linden Lab will continue to release more themes for the Linden Homes. Other improvements and new projects include the long-awaited return of last names, updates to profiles, a new mobile app, and changes in Premium Membership. Community events, Marketplace, Destination Guide, and Search will continue to be improved and provide better functionality to users.

"House Dalt of Lemonwood is a knightly Dornish house. Lemonwood is located south of the mouth of the Greenblood, close to the shadow city of Sunspear. Their arms are a purple field strewn with lemons. Their words do not appear in the books."
