The Fae and The Wolf

Today is the last day you can visit the We <3 Role-play event. If you kept putting off a purchase and take advantage of that special discount, you will have just a few hours left. Also, it’s time for the We <3 Role-play enjoy a much needed break – the event will be closed for the month of August and return on September 4th.

A few days ago, Whispering Moons closed for good. This particular sim was part of the gorean role-play community for several years and it’s always sad to see an older sim depart our role-play spectrum. I suspect a combination of reasons led the sim owner in making this decision but regardless of what exactly transpired, Gor just got a little smaller. The sim had several panther tribes over the years and one of the oldest gorean tribes in Second Life, Sa’jesuil, was one of the local tribes in the recent months prior to closing. The sim was also the home of the Tri’Moons Panthers, Village of Whispering Moons and the only location listed in the Traders category of the GE Maps, Rolling River Tavern. The Sa’jesuil can now be found on Schendi Forest continent and I hope other groups can also find a new home as well - keep an eye on the next GE Maps for updates as I continue to track down these groups.

After reading the “Why the continent is dying – The interviews” article published in The Gazette of Gor, I can understand why Whispering Moons is gone and other sims might be at the edge of leaving our role-play community. Lack of story-based role-play, the choice of combat meters, and the constant problem combat always brings are some of the reasons described by these long-serving panthers and talunas group leaders. If you care and you wish to continue playing in Gor years from now (either by role-play or combat), I invite you to read the article and take your own conclusions.
