I’ve mentioned several times on some of my recent posts, all about the new continent in Second Life and the new homes (and houseboats) that Linden Labs offers to residents, and now Bellisseria has become the coolest neighborhood in Second Life – homes are being sold like hot cakes and residents of this particular continent are enjoying plenty of events to go, places to see and things to do. The new Linden Homes Security Systems is also a nice bonus, which is offered with the new homes. If you think all of this is impressive so far, wait for it!
Clusters of residents in the new land are creating several community groups such as “Bellisseria Roleplayers”, “Bellisseria Animals”, “Bellisseria Homeowners Association”, or the “Bellisseria Riding Club” for the horse riding lovers. Direct landmarks of points of interest throughout the continent have been promoted in the Second Life Community Forums, inviting residents and explorers to join these popular hangouts. From fishing to a walk in the park, Bellisseria has certainly become the hip community of Second Life. “The Bellesserian”, a resident-run newspaper, is a great way to keep up with all the events and news in the continent. The first edition was recently released at https://thebellisserian.wixsite.com/news featuring an exclusive interview to Patch Linden, fun columns to read, beautiful pictures to admire and an updated list of local events.

Although Bellisseria is now a popular SL destination, we also have many other beautiful regions in the grid. I often share the location of my photoshoots with the purpose of giving you guys a chance to explore the beautiful world we have in Second Life. On your next escape, stop by Bellisseria and also visit Dragon Mist - a beautiful medieval sim with an Irish and Celtic themes.

"The first recorded use of the name of Celts – as Κελτοί (Keltoi) – to refer to an ethnic group was by Hecataeus of Miletus, the Greek geographer, in 517 BC, when writing about a people living near Massilia (modern Marseille). In the fifth century BC, Herodotus referred to Keltoi living around the head of the Danube and also in the far west of Europe. The etymology of the term Keltoi is unclear. Possible roots include Indo-European *kʲel 'to hide' (present also in Old Irish ceilid), IE *kʲel 'to heat' or *kel 'to impel'.
Several authors have supposed it to be Celtic in origin, while others
view it as a name coined by Greeks. Linguist Patrizia De Bernardo
Stempel falls in the latter group, and suggests the meaning "the tall
ones".
